Main purposes of the job

  • To lead the Masterplanning team in delivering the requested tasks by the Chief Research and Urban Planning Officer
  • Interact with other units (Envisioning, Research & Development and Engineering)
  • Design the masterplan for all the development projects where Planet is involved with equity by using parametric design software able to include cost control tools and multi-scenario analysis tools
  • Analyse development project’s data in order to design a sustainable, efficient masterplan, compatible with the context
  • to be Accountable for the technical drawings, reports and all the necessary documentation to be delivered to Planet Labs or Planet’s Local Partners worldwide
  • Design singular projects development and advisory (buildings, condominiums, innovation hubs,
    shopping malls…)

Key tasks

  • Listening to the demand, identifying customer needs and communicate them to the team
  • Supervise and coordinate projects and analysis
  • Coordinate local specialists to achieve group goals in agreement with the other units
  • Conducting an effective site analysis and context surveys (legislative constraints, existing buildings, topographical surveys, ecological survey, archaeological survey, traffic and transport, local climate, acoustic, photographic, historic use, cultural heritage, boundaries, social-demographic context, environmental context, infrastructure and services, likely future needs etc.)
  • Collaborate in defining a specific Planet methodology for masterplanning (different scenarios, costrelated multiple choices)
  • Analyse the aggregation of different typologies of buildings
  • Use parametric urban design techniques that are applied for large-scale urban developments in order to achieve automatization, speed, flexibility and adaptability
  • Discuss the brief and the project deliverables with clients, local partners or Planet Labs.
  • Help CRUP to organize Rapid Planning Workshops through different states and regions in Brazil and


  • Architecture Degree or Engineering degree (civil, construction, mobility, environmental and land
  • Urbanism degree
  • Doctoral degree in one of the related previous field.

Experience required

  • At least 2 years of Team Management in medium companies and ability to work in complex projects
  • At least 2 years experience in master-planning in real estate international companies or architectural practices
  • Experience in mastering social inclusion projects through urban design
  • Working experience in the field of social and affordable housing and/or smart city
  • Competence in research to define architectural and urban quality projects
  • Experience in urban regeneration projects to reduce social inequality
  • Experience in environmental sustainability projects
